Organizational Behavior (OB) is an interdisciplinary subject. As a field of study, OB provides a systematic knowledge about the impact that individuals, groups, and structure have on human behavior within an organization. As such, OB integrates three levels of analysis: the individual, the group, and the organization system. Topics covered in this course include the following: introduction, foundations of individual behavior, attitudes and job satisfaction, personality and values, perception and individual decision making, motivation concepts, motivation: from concepts to applications, emotions and moods, foundations of group behavior, understanding work teams, communication, basic approaches to leadership, contemporary issues in leadership, foundations of organization structure, organizational culture, organizational change and stress management. It is hoped that students will have a fair grasp of basic ideas in OB, and contemplate upon their possible applications at work. |
